Books edited, translated, or with contributions by J.R.R.Tolkien
In this section you can find all books to which Tolkien contibuted, reaching fom part of the editorial staff towards helper and adviser 'behind the scenes'. Tolkien spend a lot of time helping out others and most of the works that resulted from this genorous helping, are not mentioned as his work but in reality are.
It is said that Tolkien spended hours and hours with his students (wished i could have been one of them), giving them that much help that in the end their work was almost completely his. Also his fellow academic collegues got the same kind attention.
All this off course results in an impressive list of work Tolkien contributed to, and to a certain extend the list is still growing. It is very hard to track down all work with contributions of Tolkien, since there are really so many. Also the kind of books show a lot of variation, they for example contain poetry (oxford poetry, fifty new poems for children,...), religious texts (the jerusalem bible), essays (essays and studies, elizabethan acting,...), etc.
