JRR Tolkien book news, new Tolkien book publications in 2005 & Tolkien books reviews
In 2005 we celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of "The Lord of the Rings" and so received some very nice anniversary editions and we saw the publication of The Lord of the Rings Companion.

Tolkien Companion and Guide, Hammond and Scull now also managed to publish The Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion. Read article
Exactly 50 years ago, "the Return of the King" was put in the stores and J.R.R. tolkien's trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" was completed. Immediately 7.000 copies were printed because of the high demand. The publication was six months later then expected due to the difficulties Tolkien experienced trying to bring the Appendices into publishable form. Read article
When asking a Tolkien collector which book is the most precious book in his collection, it will probably be a perfect first edition of the Lord of the Rings, a signed book, like a Silmarillion signed by Christopher Tolkien, or a nice reading copy of an old the Hobbit (like I treasure one, just because it was the one all started with).
